What Strep Throat Looks Like

Today’s post is inspired by the fact that I am currently suffering from a nasty case of tonsillitis, probably due to strep throat. (This also explains my recent lack of daily posts.) Before we check out the clip, let’s brush up on some medical knowledge.
Tonsillitis is inflammation of the tonsils, which are the two small masses of lymphoid tissue in the back of your throat. One of the more common causes of tonsillitis is strep throat, which is a bacterial infection caused by Streptococcus.
So if your throat looks like the ones in today’s clip, please seek out appropriate medical attention. Untreated strep throat can lead to further problems, such as kidney inflammation or rheumatic fever. (My mom suffered from the former condition when I was a child. It’s known as post-streptococcal glomerulonephritis.) Strep throat is nothing to be taken lightly, and requires a round of antibiotics.
