As always, today’s video requires viewer discretion. It shows the drainage of a horse’s infected guttural pouch. The guttural pouch is a sac of air that expands from the Eustachian tube, with one on each side of the head beneath the ear. This procedure is being performed by a caring veterinarian, who sedated the horse and numbed the affected area beforehand. Over a gallon of pus was drained from the much-relieved animal.
