Canine Mangoworm Removal

Mangoworms (Cordylobia anthropophaga) are a species of fly that is parasitic in large mammals during its larval stage. At the site of penetration, a red papule forms, enlarges, and gradually turns into a furuncle. This eventually bursts open, allowing fluids from the maggots to drain. Today’s clip shows the removal of these creatures from such a furuncle. No running water was available in this location, so the removal was performed in less-than-ideal circumstances. Viewer discretion is strongly advised!
