“I’m Sandra Lee, MD, aka Dr Pimple Popper, a board-certified dermatologist, skin cancer surgeon, and cosmetic surgeon, who is a regular guest on The Doctors TV Show and Fox’s Studio11LA. This channel was first a place for me to post my television segments with me discussing and treating common skin issues and cutting edge cosmetic surgery techniques. In the last year, it has become so much more!
Here I try to give you a “window into my world” as a dermatologist. I discuss various diseases of the skin, hair, and nails, and you get advice and information on blackheads, acne, cysts, warts, Botox, fillers, liposuction… anything that I may do within the realm of dermatology. Hopefully you will love the field as much as I do, and even fall in love with some of my fantastic patients that you “meet” along the way.”
His page: WE ARE ABOUT DESTROYING JIGGERS! ‘Chigoe’ (Sand Flea), the smallest flea on the planet, lives in tropical and sub-tropical regions around the globe. The female burrows head first into the skin with only it’s back end at the surface. It sucks blood from its human host and excretes an enzyme to create thick, dark crusts called “scales” that protect her from being dug out. She has a hole at the surface to defecate and lay eggs. The male comes, fertilizes her and the eggs ripen within her abdomen. She continues to suck blood, eggs grow and become the white gooky material that gets dug out. If she lays her eggs BEFORE being dug out, they fall to the ground to hatch into baby fleas. IF she lays her eggs WITHOUT being dug out, she dies inside the skin. Her decaying body can cause infection and pain. The Chigoe Flea’s entire life-cycle from egg to larvae, pupae, adult and death is 30 days plus or minus. The multiple life-cycles can erode away the fingers and toes if left untreated.
